GOLFZON has continuously advanced its Swing Plate technology to bring the ever-changing conditions of a real golf course to life in indoor golf. Beginning with the Moving Swing Plate, which recreated the course’s slopes, the technology evolved to reproduce the hitting surface and stance area with greater precision—ultimately leading to the five-segment MOTION PLATE.

The GOLFZON MOTION PLATE automatically adjusts the angle of the hitting surface and stance area to match the terrain where the ball lies.

After each shot, the system analyzes the ball’s final position and the surrounding terrain, then sends the lie data for the next shot to the MOTION PLATE. The plate automatically moves to match the terrain, recreating slope conditions similar to those found on a real golf course.

This allows players to experience a variety of lies, including:

50. Uphill and downhill lies

50. Ball-above-the-feet lies

50. Ball-below-the-feet lies

50. Compound lies that combine front-to-back and side-to-side slopes

Rather than simply seeing the slope on the screen, players can stand on a physically sloped surface as they prepare for their next shot.

 

 

The MOTION PLATE features a five-segment design consisting of one hitting mat and four stance mats. Each segment moves according to the course’s terrain data, creating approximately 100 detailed slope configurations.

By dividing the hitting surface and stance area into separate segments, the system can recreate slopes of varying directions and elevations with greater precision. Players must adjust their stance to match the course conditions, allowing them to experience realistic lies and changes in balance that are difficult to replicate on a flat mat.

 

 

In golf, a slope affects more than just the angle beneath your feet. As the slope changes, so can your setup, ball position, weight distribution, swing path, and expected ball flight.

On the MOTION PLATE, players must adjust their stance and strategy for each lie. On an uphill lie, they need to align their shoulders with the slope and maintain proper balance. On downhill and sidehill lies, a stable stance and solid contact become even more important.

 

 

On a real golf course, slope is not the only factor that determines the difficulty of a shot. Whether the ball lies on the fairway, in the rough, or in a bunker can also affect how the shot feels, how far the ball travels, and the resulting ball flight.

GOLFZON’s multi-surface hitting mats simulate a variety of course conditions, including fairway, rough, and bunker lies. Players use the appropriate mat for the ball’s position, allowing them to experience different surfaces and levels of resistance at impact.

While the MOTION PLATE recreates the angle of the lie and the player’s stance, the multi-surface mats simulate the ground conditions beneath the ball. Together, these technologies reproduce both slope and surface conditions, creating a playing environment that feels even closer to a real golf course.
