Customer Spotlight: Pacific Pines Golf & Social Club

Blake and Andi Dobslaw didn’t set out to open a traditional business. With two young kids, demanding careers, and a love for golf, they envisioned a space that offered flexibility, purpose, and play.

That idea became Pacific Pines Golf & Social Club, a 24/7 members-only indoor golf business just outside Portland in Beaverton, Oregon. The results came fast as they hit their six month sales goal in just three weeks and reached full capacity with a wait-list only seven months after opening. They are located near Nike and Columbia Sportswear headquarters and adjacent to Oregon’s busiest movie theater which has helped drive membership growth and exposure.

Here’s how they launched Pacific Pines, built a premium, tech-powered indoor golf business, and created a profitable operation designed around family, performance, and community. About the Founders: Building a Business That Fits Their Life

Blake and Andi Dobslaw, founders of Pacific Pines Golf & Social Club, weren’t looking for a traditional golf simulator business model. They wanted something that gave them more time with their kids while doing something they cared about. Golf has always been a passion of theirs, and they saw an opportunity to create something different, a space that blends high-level technology, community, and a welcoming atmosphere.

It took about two years between the business plan and the opening with just 2.5 months for renovations. Blake did most of the buildout himself while they both worked on the technology and operational systems. They spent around 8-9 months researching automation so the club could run fully unstaffed, 24/7 through a secure app, cameras, and an automated access system. This gave us the confidence to move forward and design a space that matched our vision.

Why GOLFZON Was the Right Fit

The Dobslaws built their facility around GOLFZON TwoVision simulators because they offered everything others didn’t: realism, versatility and dependable short-game performance.

From the moving swing plates to realistic surface changes (fairway, roughs, bunkers) and true putting physics, the experience felt as close to real golf as possible. Plus, the video replay and swing analysis features helped them and their members improve immediately.

The GOLFZON app also gave their members access to swing data, performance trends, and practice tools anytime, from anywhere.

Creating a Premium Yet Inclusive Space

Pacific Pines is clean, open, and intentionally different from a bar environment. The space includes three simulator bays, a putting green, and a lounge-style setup where members can relax, practice, or compete.

They’ve designed their indoor golf simulator business to welcome everyone, not just low handicappers. Families, beginners and casual golfers all have a place here. Pacific Pines host Ladies Nights, Couples Nights, and events that help new friendships form.

The community of golfers that they have built has been their favorite part. It was a goal of theirs, but they didn’t expect how deep it would go. It has made the couple view Pacific Pines as more than just a business.

Membership Structure & Lifestyle Model

They built the business around membership-only access to keep operations lean, no food & beverage, no staff, no bar.

  • Birdie Plan: $225/month (individual, two-hour booking cap)
  • Eagle Plan: $295/month (family access, four-hour booking cap)

Both include unlimited play, 24/7 access and free leagues. This streamlined golf simulator business model has allowed them to balance profitability with family time, while keeping members happy and engaged.

Partnering With a Local Course

One of our most strategic decisions was partnering with Claremont Golf Club, a nine-hole course just ten minutes away. They now offer a dual membership: unlimited year-round access to the indoor facility and six months of unlimited outdoor golf at Claremont.

This partnership has also brought PGA Professional Anthony Wik into their community. He offers lessons both at our facility and on the course, helping members combine real-world coaching with golf simulator performance data.

Pacific Pines is not just a lounge, they’re part of the local golf ecosystem. Their members are learning, improving, and having fun year-round.

GOLFZON Tour

The GOLFZON Tour has been a major hit with their members. It brought a competitive energy to the space that wasn’t there before. When it kicked off, it was all anyone could talk about. Members invited their pro friends to help form teams. Even those not competing followed the leaderboard.

The competition built team pride and elevated everyone’s level of play. They had local pros join just to get in on the action and members were recruiting new members to compete. The GOLFZON Tour gave members something bigger to be a part of.
