It was a milestone weekend for GOLFZON ambassador Yana Wilson, who captured her first LPGA Tour victory at the Dow Championship, alongside partner Gina Kim.
Entering the final round in Midland, Michigan, just one shot off the lead, Wilson and Kim delivered a standout performance when it mattered most. The duo fired an impressive 8-under 62 in the tournament’s four-ball format to finish at 17-under, securing a two-shot victory and earning their first LPGA Tour titles.
For Wilson, the win represents far more than a trophy. With the victory, she earned a two-year exemption on the LPGA Tour through the 2028 season, providing security and opportunity to continue competing against the best players in the world. The win also secured her automatic entry into all five LPGA major championships in both 2026 and 2027 - an achievement that opens the door to golf’s biggest stages and further validates her place among the game’s rising stars. She will be competing in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship next week, which takes place at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota.
“I feel like we did a really good job staying in the moment and just staying present, keeping our flow there the whole time,” she said. “Got nervy towards the end, but still fun.”
At just 19 years old, Wilson continues to build on a remarkable career trajectory. Since turning professional, she has consistently demonstrated the talent, determination, and maturity needed to compete at the highest level. Throughout the week at the Dow Championship, she showcased the poise and confidence that have made her one of the most promising young players in women’s golf.
The victory is especially impressive given the unique nature of the Dow Championship. Success in a team event requires not only strong individual play but also trust, communication, and chemistry between partners. Wilson and Kim excelled in every aspect, combining consistent ball-striking, clutch putting, and a fearless approach throughout the tournament. It’s noteworthy that the two players competed on the Epson Tour last year, where Wilson won two events and Kim three.
While winning an LPGA Tour event is a dream achievement for any player, this is only the beginning for Wilson. With a two-year exemption secured and major championship starts locked in for the next two seasons, she has positioned herself for even greater success in the years ahead.
