GOLFZON ambassador Scarlett Schremmer was named to the USGA’s 2026 Elite Amateur Program, a pillar of the U.S. National Development Program. Established in 2023, the Program creates a unified pathway designed to nurture the potential of America’s top players and rising amateur golf talent.
Schremmer is currently a freshman at the University of Miami. She will be playing in her second Augusta National Women’s Amateur next month, one of the most prestigious events in amateur golf.
How the USGA Elite Amateur Program Selects Players
The Elite Amateur Program rosters are compiled and reevaluated annually by a selection committee of US National Development Program staff members. The eligibility criteria include nationality, age, amateur status, performance, conduct, education and graduation year.
Seven women were selected, including Schremmer. Others include Anna Davis (Auburn), Chloe Kovelesky (Wake Forest), Farah O’Keefe (Texas), Jasmine Koo (USC), Kiara Romero (Oregon) and Catherine Park (USC).
Kihei Akina (BYU), Max Herendeen (Illinois) and Michael Riebe (Vanderbilt) were selected in the men’s category.
Supporting the Next Generation of Elite Amateur Golfers
The Elite Amateur Program is designed to complement the players’ college programs by providing tailored support that bridges gaps and enhances their competitive edge as they prepare for the highest levels of competition in amateur and professional golf.
