The 2025 Amundi Evian Championship tees off today in Évian-les-Bains, France, and LPGA sophomore Savannah Grewal, 23, is ready. With ten LPGA events under her belt, Grewal is no stranger to the game of golf. As she prepares for The Amundi Evian Championship later this week, she takes on a virtual round at Evian Resort Golf Club. Take a look at how she played by watching the full round here.
Evian is always a fun challenge. To be able to play it on a simulator was really cool.
A Realistic Way to Prepare for Major Championship Conditions
Backed by years of engineering focused on realism, the simulator gave Grewal a strikingly authentic way to play Evian indoors. This was her first time stepping onto a GOLFZON simulator. When asked about her first impression of the GOLFZON TwoVision simulator, Grewal says,
I think this is probably as close to real golf as you can get indoors on a simulator. The different components that make it feel realistic were really cool.
The system she used included features like:
- A moving swing plate that adjusts to simulate uneven, true-to-life lies
- A multi-surface hitting mat with different textures for rough, fairway, and sand
- Detailed course graphics that mirror every hill, bunker, and hazard of Evian Resort Golf Club
You pretty much never get a flat lie at Evian. It was cool to have that simulation here. The different types of sand, rough, and having that slope added to that realistic experience.
Why Simulators Matter for LPGA Preparation
The Amundi Evian Championship is one of five LPGA majors and one of the most scenic—and demanding—events on the calendar. Located in the French Alps overlooking Lake Geneva, the course is known for its elevation changes, tight landing areas, and fast greens. For players with limited experience on the course, a virtual preview can be a major advantage.
Grewal’s decision to prep indoors isn’t just smart—it’s part of a growing trend among pro golfers using technology to sharpen their competitive edge. High-end indoor golf simulators now allow players to rehearse strategy, simulate course conditions, and stay sharp year-round—especially when weather or travel makes outdoor practice harder to access.
And it’s not just for professionals. These same technologies are available at indoor golf facilities and sports lounges across the country, helping everyday golfers experience tour-level courses from around the world.
