Something exciting is on the horizon here at Golfzon! We’re working with the Metropolitan Golf Association to host the MGA Virtual Interclub Championship on Saturday, December 9, at the Golfzon Social Palisades Center in West Nyack, NY.
This event is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience the best of both worlds: playing on a world-class course with realistic conditions while simultaneously enjoying the fun and convenience of indoor golf entertainment.
What is the MGA Virtual Interclub Championship?
The MGA Virtual Interclub Championship is an annual 18-hole competition being held at the Palisades Center in New York. The championship will feature two-person teams from MGA clubs, competing in a four-ball stroke play format on a virtual course. The teams will compete at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, the site of the 2023 Ryder Cup, using Golfzon simulators.
The first-place team will win a Golfzon TwoVision simulator for their home club or facility, while the top ten teams will receive other prizes. The event is open to all MGA members and professionals affiliated with an MGA club or facility.
The event is part of the multi-year extension of the partnership between Golfzon and the MGA, which aims to provide easier access to golf and promote the game in the Met Area. Golfzon and the MGA have worked together since 2019 to offer various programs and events for golfers of all levels and backgrounds.
What is the MGA?
The Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA), founded in 1897, is one of the nation’s oldest and largest amateur golf associations, serving more than 500 member clubs and 150,000 golfers in the greater Metropolitan New York Area.
The MGA is a not-for-profit organization that offers a wide range of core services such as: handicapping, course rating, an award-winning magazine (The Met Golfer), and conducts some of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious regional championships.
