How Much Does An Indoor Golf Simulator Cost?

Golf simulators can add a splash of color to your home or business. However, these golf simulators have quite a few components and are expensive. In this article, we'll discuss what you should know about indoor golf simulator costs.

Golf Simulators

Most of the best golf simulators can be divided into three categories, low-end, mid-range, and high-end simulators.

  • Low-cost golf simulators

A low-cost golf simulator will come with a launch monitor, net and hitting mat, and entry-level software to work with your golf simulator. Low-priced golf simulators may not have screens or projectors and have limited accuracy data. Many golfers use a computer or iPad with a golf simulator to get the simulator experience without the need for large projectors and screens. These less expensive simulators are great for areas of the house where you have to set up golf simulators up and down.

  • Mid-cost simulators

Mid-range simulators have good accuracy. Golf mats are generally larger, but might lack the weight of premium mats. Indoor golf simulators are equipped with screens and projectors that provide clear and easy-to-view images. Mid-cost golf simulators usually feature launch monitors, hitting nets, golf mats, simulator software, screens, and projectors. This type of golf simulator setup is best for home use. Golfzon’s Vision Standard product is a perfect fit for mid-cost simulators.

  • High-cost simulators

The golf simulator software used in high-cost simulators is impressive. You'll notice sharper graphics, and you'll generally be able to play better golf courses and tricks. Many high-cost golf simulator setups come with a gaming computer or laptop to ensure the entire system works well together. Our TwoVision and Vision Premium products are available for high-cost golf simulators.

What Is Included In Golf Simulators?

  • Simulator Softwares

A simulator software helps you experience different golf courses and practice facilities around the world. Softwares are tied to the boot monitor you purchase, some are free, some are a one-time fee, and some are annual subscriptions. There is also the option to upgrade the courses you have access to with other packages. Each of these will feature impressive graphics and a base package that includes at least five golf courses. Simulator software prices range from free to 3000 USD.

  • Golf Mats

A quality turf mat will cost you at least 300 to 500 USD. They can cost as much as 800 USD if you want the best performance and durability. The number one mistake we see golfers make in a home golf simulator setup is buying a golf mat that is too small, too light, and unreal. So when you're investing in all the other costs for an indoor golf simulator setup, buying a large golf mat that feels great is worth the extra few hundred dollars.

  • Projector and screen

Projectors can be tricky for many reasons. Each room has its own needs based on the light, size, and resolution required by the simulator software. Not all projectors are suitable for home golf simulators. Projector and screen setups typically cost between 1000 and 6000 USD. These are golf simulator costs that people often forget or underestimate when assembling their simulators.

  • Computer

You probably already have a laptop, tablet, or desktop option capable of running golf simulator software. Before purchasing any software, review the recommended system specifications for the software you plan to use. If you're building a high-end golf simulator or a commercial golf simulator, a gaming laptop is the best overall choice. Impressive graphics, along with high speeds, will ensure you get the overall experience you need. Depending on the computer and software, around 500 to 2000 USD is enough for a good computer setup.

  • Launch Monitors

A launch monitor predicts where your golf ball is going with every shot. The launch monitor is the most important part of an indoor golf simulator and a large part of the cost of an indoor golf simulator and a good one will cost around 300-25000 USD. There are some great portable golf launch monitors on the market to help you with your golf game, but not all of them are designed for golf simulators. If you have a budget of less than 2000 USD, you can get a monitor that tracks distance but is most likely to have poor or no data showing how far the ball has moved left or right. In addition to golf ball data, higher-end launch monitors will collect golf club data, which will only improve the overall accuracy.

  • Hitting Net or Screen

If you're considering a golf net without a screen, your simulator experience will be very limited. You also have to consider size, bounce, and return. You will need a net to stop the ball from hitting walls, windows, or other fragile things in your home. If you're planning on using a projector, then the impact screen is a good option. The projector will simulate a golf course on the screen. The impact screen costs about 300-500 USD. Golf projector screens with padded walls are the best and most expensive option because they tend to be custom-made, but buying a projector screen with a side mesh is a good first step, and the option to mount the wall will populate later.

  • Cables

You may need some cables and lighting, and sometimes a projector and screen to assemble your golf simulator setup. These are basic expenses that won't have much impact on the overall cost of the project. A good setup can be repaired with a complete cable for 50-500 USD.

In the case of Golfzon products, components such as software, mat, screen, and projector are all included, so there is no need to search for and purchase each component individually.

Space Requirements For Golf Simulators

You need enough space to swing your golf clubs safely. You don't want to swing your club and hit a light fixture, furniture, or other objects that are too close. Here are some tips to remember when measuring your golf simulator space:

  • The length of the room should be long enough to provide enough space for the simulator and golfer.
  • The width of the room will depend on the golf simulator configuration you choose. About 10-13 feet is a good size for most golf simulators.
  • The height of the room is also important. You need enough space for the golf ball to move without hitting the ceiling, about 10 feet or more. If your room is a little under 10 feet tall, you can still set up a golf simulator.
